As we enjoy the fall colors that are starting to show, it’s time to start thinking about the holidays!
Show location: Creative Arts Group Art Festival
I will have a table showing and selling my pieces at the Creative Arts Group Art Festival on Saturday and Sunday on November 6th and 7th from 10am-5pm at 108 N. Baldwin Avenue in Sierra Madre, CA. I would love to have you come by and peruse my newest pieces and maybe even discuss a project that you have in mind for the holidays.
After the Art Festival is held by all of the artists that are members of the Creative Arts Group, it’s not over. There will also be a student sale for all of the works that the students have created during the arts classes offered at the Creative Arts Group. The student sale is on November 13 from 10am-4pm.
I hold a jewelry class for beginning, intermediate and advanced Jewelry Fabrication and I’m proud to have some of my students selling at the Student Sale. If you’re interested in joining my class, the next session starts soon. My next 4 class interim session that focuses primarily on Stone Setting starts in November, and the next full 10 week class starts in January. Give me a call, or check the CAG website for more details .
Show location: Lavender Market
You will also be able to catch me at a table at the Lavender Market, on Saturday, November 13th from 9am-4pm. It’s at 89 Olive Avenue in Sierra Madre, CA. There are over 26 vendors at the Lavender Market and a wonderful place to find hand-made holiday gifts.
This year the artists association that I am a part of, the Creative Arts Group in Sierra Madre, has decided to display the works of it’s artists digitally on it’s website. You can check out my page here: Kimberly’s Jewelry in the Gallery.
They have put together a video where they sweep through all of the pieces in the gallery so you can peruse from your living room. That way you can drop by the gallery afterwards at your leisure to pick up the pieces that you liked. My jewelry is shown in the video at minute 3:51. Check out the video here.
Rhodolite garnets galore in my popular “GIngko leaves” setting
Garnets are in focus here as they are the birth stone of the month of January. Garnets are quite special because they come in so many colors. My favorite is the Rhodolite Garnet. Sometimes, depending on how much purple is in it, we call it a grape Garnet. I recently made a pendant, with earrings to match, of Sterling gingko leaves that had a very rich looking 9×6 Pear shaped Rhodolite
Garnet hanging from the bottom. The earrings have 5mm round faceted garnets that match well. They look so pretty together and I know they are worn with love!
Would you like to order a pendant and earring set, or discuss setting alternative stones in this popular “gingko leaves” setting? Send me an email and we can start the creative process together.
This sterling silver pendant makes a grand statement of color and texture within, peaking the viewer’s interest and enticing them to have a closer look. I have suspended an 8×6 oval faceted Rhodolite garnet over a shield shaped Tigilite stone. The purple garnet embraced in a solid Sterling Silver frame compliments the internal colors of this unusual Tigilite fossil (tigilite is a trace fossil in limestone). The Blind bail on this pendant will accommodate a 4mm chain. (chain sold separately)
Price: $245.00 (Item N-80)
The half arch Sterling Silver piece is studded with 14 kt Yellow Gold and swings around a pierced-out golden rotating orb, making a very kinetic pendant. To me, it gives the impression of a sun dial or of a planet spinning on it’s axis, with the spinning sphere and it’s arch that moves from left to right. Price $180.
Make it a set with this necklace and earring combo
Bring out the colors of a winter sunset with citrine and amethyst. Natural citrine and amethyst crystals hang with purple amethyst and citrine beads in the beaded necklace and sterling silver earrings. Earring Price $45 (Inquire for Necklace Price)
A thoughtful hubby ordered these tourmaline drop post earrings for his wife for her birthday. She loves them! So do I – although, every new piece I make seems to be my new favorite. That’s the benefit of working with what you love.
In these earrings, I have linked together clench set natural tourmaline watermelon slices of different colors, and hung them under deep pink tourmaline post earrings. This special setting shows off the uneven edges of the watermelon tourmaline slices, while doubling as protection.
Do you have a project in mind for a loved one for the holidays? Let me know, and we’ll see what we can do – send me an email.
Coral is the largest living organism known on the earth. The dazzeling star pattern of this fossilized Indonesian Coral stone evokes the essence of the ocean! Accented by a unique sterling silver cuttle bone casting and 4mm bezeled faceted Amethyst, this piece will bring joy to any lover of the ocean, snorkeling, or scuba diving. Price $165
Jingle, Jingle, Jingle….there’s more to it than meets the eye…
You’ll be surprised when you wear this pierced-out sterling silver pendant! It has small Sterling bells inside to help you have a jingle in your step!
The design changes all the way around so it can be worn in either direction.
The bail is large enough to handle a 3 mm chain. Price: $85 (Item N-98)
